TEACHING

so i decided to finally tell my mother..."mom, what if i became a teacher?"

i conversation...went...well went like this:

me: mom what if i were a teacher
mom: if thats what you really want to do
me: it is
mom: did you hear about all the teachers getting laid off
me: yea...but sooner or later all the kids that are being born now are going to be in school soon and they're going to need more teachers
mom: then they would just hire the ones they laid off
me: but you have to think about all the teachers that are going to retire to
mom: oh retirement
me: yea...and i really like it
mom: well you're not going to make alot of money
me: its ok.
mom: well you do what you want to do...maybe you'll be able to teach your niece
me: yea...they'll probably be in 3rd, 4th grade by then

*next day

mom: you know...if you were a businessman you would be able to go all over the world
me: but i don't want to travel
mom: but your company would be able to send you on all kinds of business trips
me: but i don't want to travel, how will i have a family
mom: well how can you have a family if you don't make any money
me: but if i travel, i won't be able to spend any time at home
mom: mmm

slowly...but she'll understand...and accept it one day
